PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING

1. CUP 10-11/SUP 10-04 - CAMINO SHELL - Request for approval of a Conditional Use Permit CUP 10-11 and Special Use Permit SUP 10-04 to remodel an existing gas station and convenience market including the conversion of a smog-check station into a self-service car wash facility on a .47-acre property generally located at the northeast corner of El Camino Real and Marron Road in Local Facilities Management Zone 2. Resolution No. 6777 and 6778

Motion to approve PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION: That the Planning Commission ADOPT Planning Commission Resolutions No. 6777 and 6778 APPROVING a Conditional Use Permit (CUP 10-11) and Special Use Permit (SUP 10-04), based upon the findings and subject to the conditions contained therein. Moved by Commissioner Schumacher, no second required.

Commissioner Arnold asked about the timeframe for the construction. Applicant presentation. Haggman, stated he was available to answer any questions. Commissioner Arnold asked about no more additional traffic. How much for smog check. Varies. Similar to car wash at pio pico. asked about access to shopping center. Commissioner scully asked about the distance between the first bay and exit of car wash. Turn radius. Most cars will go straigh and exit to ECR. generally speaking it shouldn't be an issue open and close public testimony. discussion Arnold - more attractive than existing sturcture. can support the project. Scully - design and landscaping will improve the corner but is concerned with the distance to the pumps and car wash exit. Schumacher thanked staff and applicant and can support the project. LHeureux can support the project.
